Introductory post
Hi, I'm Patrick Waymeyer, call me Clutch. As you can see from the photo I love fast cars, as well as fast food. I personally love Taco Bell and KFC. However, I will never turn down a rare steak either. I'm very outspoken, but hey love me or hate me. This is my first website ever, besides Facebook, but that doesn't count in my book. I hope by reading this you get insight to a different perspective of food, as well as it's effects on society.
Yet, to understand others perspective one must know the authors perspective, I feel this gives greater weight to the details of an authors work. Allow me to give you an insight to yours truly The Clutch. I grew up in a family where sit down meals weren't weekly. We had traditional holiday sit downs, but that's it. Also, as a child I was very hyper, it very alert to detail, even if I played naive to them. I believe this trait ultimately lead to my love of fast food and even faster cars. My reasoning being that, faster things stimulate me more and I noticed early on that McDonald's chicken nuggets tasted much better than the ones that came out of our freezer. Than I discovered Taco Bell and KFC and my parents had hoped I'd go back to McNuggets, but I didn't because switching back to a fast food chain is like going back to an ex-girlfriend, you typically regret it and miss what you had before in the long run.
A lot of times I will use very creative and odd metaphors, but that's just a way I try to connect things. However, my two main connecting agents are society and food. This being, because I believe in the old saying "You are what you eat." Yet, I do not just view this as an individual basis, I view it just as much pertaining to whole communities. For example America, China, and Japan are all fast paced countries, so they are fast eaters, while Haiti I hope you enjoy my website and it's content and remember if someone says a food item is bad for you, it probably tastes really good (unless it's poisonous berries, never eat those).
Enjoy!!
